For the last day of my travels in Germany for Around the World with Gummibär, I am visiting Mount Zugspitze! People from all around the world come here to ski the snowy mountain top!
At precisely 2,962 metres above sea level, Mount Zugspitze is the highest mountain in the country and home to three glaciers and Germany’s highest ski resort. The 20 kilometres of peaks are covered in snow for skiing and snowboarding for six months of the year. Mount Zugspitze is also a point of interest for thrill-seekers or people who love heights: Right at the top, an impressive 360° panorama opens up to reveal extensive views over 400 mountain peaks in four countries! The historical Zugspitze-Exhibition enhances visitors’ awareness of the historical developments of Germany’s most famous mountain. Other cool points of interest at Mount Zugspitze include two toboggan runs, Germany’s highest church, an igloo village and excellent mountain restaurants!
