Everyone’s favorite Gummibär has been confirmed as the new host for the upcoming season of American Idol. Gummibär will replace Ryan Seacrest, who has been the host since 2002. In order to compete with other singing competitions, such as The Voice, the executives of the hit television show decided they needed a more animated and lively host for season 15. Gummibär received the call from the producers, and instantly was accepted the role. This will be Gummibär’s live television debut.
Aside from hosting, Gummibär hopes to be a mentor to many of the contestants on the show. Gummibär is the first independent artist to have over one billion songs views on YouTube, and he feels as though he can provide these contestants with a lot of knowledge about how to make it in the music industry.
