Around the World with Gummibär: Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany

germanyrothenburg

The first of my travels in Germany for Around the World with Gummibär today is the village of Rothenburg (or Rothenburg ob der Tauber), in Germany!

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is located on the Tauber River in Germany.  Rothenburg is well on its way to becoming a medieval theme park, with old medieval buildings resembling barns that once housed livestock.  Still, it is known for being the most well-preserved medieval fairytale town in Germany! In fact, there is even a medieval wall surrounding Rothenburg! In the Middle Ages, Rothenburg was Germany’s second-largest city, with a population of 6,000 before Berlin and Munich became heavily populated cities. Today, there is lots of shopping to do and cobblestone roads to walk down. Click here to read more about Rothenburg!
