Gummibär and Friends: The Gummy Bear Show is moving on up to the big screen! Gummybear International and Toonz Media Group are excited to be partnering on a CGI-animated film that takes on the classic spy movie genre with Gummibär’s iconic and lovable twist.
Gummibär and Friends, an animated show by Toonz Media Group published on the Official Gummibär YouTube channel, has captured the hearts of millions. The feature length animated film ‘Gummibär and Friends: Operation Cotton Candy’ will star the characters Gummibär, Kala the cat, and Harry the chameleon. The movie entered pre-production in late 2024 and is set to release in 2026.
The film will also be produced by Toonz Media Group, led by an all-star animation team including producer Robert Chandler (‘Amazing Maurice’), the original Gummibär animator Pete Dodd as director (‘Corpse Bride’, ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, ‘Tals of Desperaux’), with screenplay by BAFTA winner Dan Berlinka (‘The A-List’, ‘Dixi’).
Though viewers can expect to see Gummy’s usual silliness- chasing the thrill of savoring different cotton candy flavors, as the title implies- the plot will follow Gummy and friends on a high-stakes mission to defeat Dr. Verde and a crew of sinister villains who are on a tear to destroy everything colorful from the planet.
